ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE
Overview
Full time and part time English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, as well as test preparation courses are offered at our Mississauga Campus.
Students gain functional knowledge of English and will be able to participate in common conversations, as well as developing proficiency in all four skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
They will be better prepared for further studies, immigration and residency applications, professional exams and further career opportunities.
Current Courses
1. General English-ESL
ABOUT THE COURSE
- This program includes twelve courses from beginner to advanced levels for all four skills- speaking, reading, listening and writing.
- Full-time ESL is 20 hours per week, which includes 15 hours of in-class instruction plus 5 hours of ESL activities such as movie sessions, field trips, labs and more.
- Students will take a the Cambridge placement test to determine their level – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced.
- Start dates and timetables are flexible.
- Beginner course lasts for 6 weeks, Intermediate course lasts for 4 weeks, Advanced course lasts for 1 week.
2. IELTS Preparation Course
This program prepares students for the IELTS exam which is needed for employment, immigration to Canada or university and it will also help achieve their desired scores in Academic or General Modules.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
- Students will take the Cambridge placement test to determine their levels – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
- Students will take 2 mock tests during the course.
- Academic and General IELTS courses include 20 hours of instruction per week for the 4 skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing.
- Start dates and timetables are flexible.
- Beginner course lasts for 6 weeks, Intermediate course lasts for 4 weeks, Advanced course lasts for 1 week.
3. CAEL Traning Course
The Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test measures the English language proficiency of students planning to study at Canadian universities and colleges, and is also accepted by professional designations such as ICCRC. This program prepares the students for an academic computer-delivered test which identifies the four skills for academic success.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
- Students will take a Cambridge placement test to determine their level.
- Students will take 2 mock tests during the course.
- CAEL course includes 20 hours of instruction per week for all skills.
- Start dates and timetables are flexible.
